WINSTON NEW AIR 2 Technology.

All rods need a wide casting range to cover a variety of situations. The new AIR 2 freshwater rods will deliver higher line speed, a faster retrieve rate and a new, modern, fast and smooth action without sacrificing feel and enjoyment. For those days when you can only have one rod, this is the one.

We choose to use boron fibers in the butt sections of our rods to provide extraordinary strength and added momentum. This creates a distinctive, lively and crisp action. Fly rods made only with graphite fibers (without Boron) do not provide the same power. Boron designs incorporate multiple materials and multiple tapers resulting in a great, highly accurate fly rod over a wide range of distances with little effort.

New Carbon Fiber Material – Introducing S-2000, a new high modulus graphite. We use S-2000, a new next generation high modulus carbon fiber material with a lower deformation rate. While we also use a new Boron configuration in the butt section, all four sections of our Boron AIR 2 freshwater rods use our new high modulus S-2000 graphite. A new combination of graphite and resin provides greater resistance.

For the first time in years, Winston has tweaked Boro's settings. This power transfer/interface between this new AIR 2 boron butt section and S-2000 graphite in the top three sections of the AIR 2 is what makes the power transfer in these new rods incredible. New custom HSR resin less weight and more strength.

New smaller, lighter profile snake guides with a new ECO smooth coating feature a round helix geometry that provides reduced line drag and better line shooting for more power, as well as better accuracy and distance management. .
